Day 22 of the MVM Christmas 2022 Gift Guide
Tax-Xorb is one of the most well stocked and best value for money bottle shops on the island – and while they always stock premium bottles of spirits, liquors and wines, during Christmas time they also provide a fantastic range of hampers and gift packs.
If your goal is to buy a considerate gift for someone, you always need to think hard about who you’re buying the gift for. Do they already have everything they need? Are they fussy about what clothes they wear or what they like to keep in the house? (Speaking about myself here).
Some people are just difficult to buy for but no one – and I mean NO ONE receives a fancy bottle of their favourite spirit or wine and gets disappointed – and the same goes for hampers full of delicious treats. Everyone loves a treat!
Here are some awesome options from Tax-Xorb.
Tax-Xorb have a great range of gift packs of premium spirits to suit all budgets. I have picked this Tomintoul 18-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky because it’s a particularly special bottle.
This gentle Speysider has seen nearly two decades of ageing and its years in the cask have given it a suitably mellow and well-rounded flavour profile.
In the spirit of gift giving, give a spirit as a gift this Christmas.
This cute 70cl barrel of St Andrews blended Scotch whisky is not only enjoyable to drink, but makes a fantastic addition to the spirits shelve thanks to its decorative presentation. Definitely one for the collection.
Old St Andrews has been blending Scotch whisky successfully for over 50 years and have come up with some award-winning blends.
Another fantastic gift for a whisky lover at a more budget friendly price.
There were lots of hampers to choose from on the Tax-Xorb website, so by all means, check them out and pick the right one for you, but I went for the one which to me had all the goodies that I normally associate with Christmas.
Ferrero Rocher, Baci (classic), After Eight, Christmas Cake, Raffaello, Cadbury Milk tray Box and Quality Street are all Christmas staples which I love and these are complimented with a bottle of Piccini Hieron Nero d’Avola, a bottle of Picollo Gavi and Baci Amore & Passione.
Sounds like Christmas in a basket to me and would make a great gift this Christmas.
From the large range of wine gift packs, I wanted to pick a local option and it doesn’t get better than this set of Antonin Rouge & Blanc Twin Gift Pack – the set of wines that the winery chose to dedicate to Marsovin’s late founder Anthony Cassar.
Antonin Rouge is made from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes all harvested from Marsovin’s Marnisi Estate in Marsaxlokk with Merlot being the dominant grape variety in the wine.
Antonin Blanc is produced from selected Chardonnay grapes harvested from the Ramla Valley Estate in Gozo and fermented in new oak barrels for 12 weeks.
A superb choice and a lovely gift.
As a final gift idea I have chosen this wooden box containing 6 Gold Medal winning wines from different chateaux’s in the region of Bordeaux.
Clearly a gift built for someone who loves fine red wine and enjoys sampling, savouring and comparing the flavours of different bottles.
A generous gift sure to be loved by anyone who enjoys wine.
