We’re all interested in reducing the time and effort to get to where we need to go in this day and age. Technology has enabled us to get to places, physically and virtually, in less time than ever before (barring any traffic, obviously). We see it everywhere, from quicker transportation to more powerful computers, and more prevalent than ever, with the introduction and usage of mobile applications (a.k.a. Apps).
Mobile phone usage has sky-rocketed in the last decade or so, since the dawn of the smartphone and has only grown stronger and stronger as the years pass by. Our data suggests that almost 70% of users are accessing Malta Virtual Mall (MVM) via their mobile device. We are not alone, with the National Statistics Office reporting in their news release titled “Internet Usage by Households: 2019” that in 2019 “83.3 per cent of those between 16 and 74 accessed the internet away from home or work via their mobile or smartphone“. These are huge numbers, which is why it is important that online shops and businesses in general embrace mobile technology and applications.
We are currently looking into doing just that. Our aim is to bring MVM to your mobile phone via an app for easy access to all the awesome features we’ve developed and are continuing to develop.
Until then, however, we’ve created some walkthrough videos so that you are able to add MVM to the Home screen of your Android or iOS devices.
Add MVM to Android Home Screen
If you own a mobile device running Android, then follow the instructions in the video below to learn exactly what you need to do to add MVM to your device’s Home screen for easier access to our portal.
In summary, the steps are as follows:
- Open Google Chrome on your Android device
- Go to https://maltavirtualmall.com
- Click the three dots in the top right corner and then click on “Add to Home Screen“
- Choose the name for your new icon, then click “Add“
- Press and hold the logo and then drop it wherever you want on your device’s Home Screen.
- Use your new Home Screen shortcut whenever you want to shop online locally
Add MVM to iOS Home Screen
If you own an iPhone or iPad running Apple’s iOS, on the other hand, then the video below will show you exactly what you need to do to add MVM to your device’s Home screen for easier access to our portal.
In summary, the steps are as follows:
- Open Safari on your device
- Go to https://maltavirtualmall.com
- Click the “Share” icon at the bottom and then click “Add to Home Screen“
- Choose the name for your new icon, then click “Done“
- Use your new Home Screen shortcut whenever you want to shop online locally
